Quick Answers

**Is my video uploaded to your servers?** Yes. Uploaded videos are sent to our processing servers for analysis. URL-based scans download the video from the provided URL to our servers for frame analysis. The downloaded video follows the same retention and deletion rules as uploaded files.

**How long do you keep my video?** Free and Starter plan: videos and evidence frames are deleted within 24 hours. Pro plan: 7 days by default, with manual deletion available. Scan metadata (verdict, score, timestamp) is retained longer for account history.

**Do you use my videos to train AI models?** No. We do not use uploads to train our own models. Third-party providers process data under their own privacy policies.

**Do you share my videos with third parties?** Yes, for processing only. Free and Starter plan videos are analyzed by Sightengine (genai image API). Pro plan videos are analyzed by BitMind. We do not sell, publish, or share your videos for marketing or training purposes.

**Do you save evidence frames?** Yes, temporarily. Evidence frames follow the same retention period as uploaded videos (24h for Free/Starter, 7 days for Pro). They are deleted along with the video.

**Can I delete my scan history?** Yes. You can delete individual scans from your account page. To delete all data, use the Delete Account button or email privacy@aivideodetector.dev.

Information We Collect

AI Video Detector is a web-based deepfake and AI-generated video scanner that provides analysis with verdicts, scores, evidence frames, and reason codes.

When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and profile picture URL as provided by Google. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or other Google services.

We may collect account information, contact requests, billing status, usage limits, uploaded videos, direct video URLs, generated evidence frames, scan metadata, and analytics events needed to provide the Service.

Uploaded videos and evidence frames can include personal information if people appear in the video. Only upload content you have the right to process.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide scan results, generate reports, prevent abuse, manage credits, troubleshoot errors, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.

Results are based on statistical analysis. They may be wrong and should not be treated as legal proof or a professional forensic conclusion.

Detection Providers by Plan

Different subscription plans use different AI detection providers. The table below shows which provider analyzes your video on each plan:

**Free plan:** 3 frames are extracted from your video and sent individually to Sightengine for AI-generation signal analysis. Sightengine processes each frame under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.

**Starter plan:** 5 frames are extracted and sent to Sightengine, following the same process as the Free plan with increased frame coverage.

**Pro plan:** The full video is sent to BitMind for video-level AI detection. BitMind returns a confidence score and similarity metric. BitMind processes videos under its own privacy policy.

For URL-based scans (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms), the video is first downloaded from the source platform using yt-dlp before being sent to the appropriate detection provider. The downloaded video follows the same processing and retention rules as directly uploaded files.

Regardless of plan, the following data is transmitted to third parties for processing: your uploaded video (or downloaded video for URL scans), extracted video frames (Free/Starter), and scan result metadata. Evidence frames stored in your scan report are kept on our Cloudflare R2 infrastructure — they are not sent to detection providers after initial analysis.

PDF report exports are generated on our servers and stored in your account. They are not transmitted to any detection provider.

Consent by Using the Service

By uploading a video or submitting a URL for scanning, you consent to the processing of that video and its extracted frames by the detection provider assigned to your plan (Sightengine for Free/Starter, BitMind for Pro) for the purpose of generating an AI-detection result.

This processing is necessary to deliver the Service. If you do not want your video processed by a third-party detection provider, do not submit videos for scanning.

Uploaded Videos and Training

We do not use your uploads to train our own models. Third-party providers (Cloudflare, PayPal, Google, BitMind, Sightengine) process data under their own privacy policies.

For URL-based scans, we download the video from the provided URL to our servers for frame analysis. The downloaded video follows the same retention and deletion rules as uploaded files.

Free and Starter plan videos and evidence frames are deleted within 24 hours. Pro videos and evidence frames are retained for 7 days by default. Users can request deletion.

PDF report exports are retained with your scan data and follow the same retention period as scan metadata (90 days for Pro users).

Account data (email, name, plan, credits) is retained for the life of the account. Scan metadata (verdict, score, timestamp, file name) is retained for 90 days for Pro users and 30 days for Free and Starter users. Analytics events are retained for up to 26 months. All data is deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.

Third-Party Processors

The Service relies on the following third-party processors. Each link goes to the provider's official privacy policy or data processing documentation:

Cloudflare — Hosting, object storage (R2), D1 database, security, and edge caching. All user data at rest (videos, evidence frames, scan metadata, account data) is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure.

Sightengine — AI-generation image analysis for Free and Starter plan frame-level detection. Each extracted frame is sent to Sightengine's genai image API for scoring.

BitMind — AI video detection for Pro plan. The full video file is sent to BitMind for video-level analysis.

PayPal — Payment processing for all paid plans. PayPal processes billing information under its own terms.

Google OAuth — Authentication. Google provides account email, display name, and profile picture. We do not access other Google services.

Google Analytics — Optional usage analytics (cookie consent required).

Microsoft Clarity — Optional session recording and heatmaps (cookie consent required).

Ahrefs — Optional traffic analytics (cookie consent required).

These providers process information under their own terms, privacy policies, and data processing agreements where applicable.

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Cloudflare operates a global edge network. Google and PayPal process data under their own international transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to these jurisdictions.

EU/EEA and UK Data Transfers

If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, your personal data may be transferred outside these regions for processing. The key transfer mechanisms are:

**Cloudflare:** Operates a global edge network with data centers in multiple regions. Cloudflare uses Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international transfers. See the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum.

**Sightengine:** Processes data in the EU. See Sightengine's privacy policy for details on data location and transfer safeguards.

**BitMind:** Processes video data under its own infrastructure. See BitMind's privacy policy for details on data location and safeguards.

**PayPal:** Processes payments under its own international transfer mechanisms. See PayPal's privacy statement.

**Google:** Processes authentication and analytics data under its own international transfer mechanisms, including SCCs. See Google's privacy policy.

We do not maintain a published list of sub-processors at this time. If you need a current list of sub-processors for compliance purposes, contact us at the email below and we will provide one within 30 days.

Cookies and Analytics

We use a cookie consent banner to allow you to choose between accepting all cookies or essential-only cookies. Essential cookies are required for login and security. For a full list of cookies and storage items, see our Cookie Policy.

We prefer cookieless analytics such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible. We also use Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Ahrefs Web Analytics for optional usage insights.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site or clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

Analytics events may include page views, upload starts, scan completions, scan errors, result views, report sharing, and upgrade clicks.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age, or under 16 in the EU/EEA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email below and we will promptly delete the data.

Your Rights and Contact

Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA under GDPR, California under CCPA, and other jurisdictions), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or request a copy of your personal information.

To exercise your rights: use the self-service tools in your Account page (Download My Data, Delete Account) or send an email to the address below with your request and sufficient information to verify your identity. We will respond within 30 days.

EU residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority if they believe their rights have been infringed.

To request data deletion, include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line. Upon verification, we will delete your account data within 30 days, excluding records we are legally required to retain.
