What this tool is
AI Video Detector is a web-based tool that helps anyone check whether a video may be AI-generated or manipulated. It provides a structured scan result with a score, confidence label, evidence frames, and reason codes — designed to support human review, not replace it.
Why we built it
As AI-generated video tools become more accessible, the ability to distinguish real from synthetic video is increasingly important for journalists, creators, moderators, educators, and everyday social media users. We built this tool to make AI video detection accessible to non-technical users — without requiring forensic expertise or expensive software.
What this tool is NOT
- It is not a forensic analysis service.
- It is not legal proof that a video is real or fake.
- It is not a platform moderation tool (we do not report results to social media platforms).
- It is not 100% accurate — no AI detection tool is.
- It does not identify the specific AI tool used to create a video.
Who is responsible for this tool
AI Video Detector is an independently operated project. It is not owned by, affiliated with, or sponsored by any social media platform, AI video generation company, detection provider, or government agency.

Content review: All website content, detection methodology documentation, blog articles, and comparison pages are reviewed by the project team before publication. Blog articles include individual author and reviewer credits.
Detection providers: AI Video Detector uses third-party AI detection services (Sightengine for Free/Starter plans, BitMind for Pro plan) as neutral API customers. We do not have a commercial partnership, revenue-sharing arrangement, or exclusive relationship with any detection provider. Providers can be changed or added without notice.
How we maintain it
The detection engine is updated to improve accuracy as new AI generation models emerge. The website and scanning infrastructure are actively maintained. We review and update content, accuracy notes, and methodology documentation regularly.
