What happens to your uploaded videos, evidence frames, scan metadata, and account data after you use AI Video Detector.

How deletion works
- 1Video upload: When you upload a video, it is stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. A reference is created in the D1 database linking the file to your scan.
- 2Processing: During scan processing, extracted frames (Free/Starter plans) or the full video (Pro plan) are sent to the assigned detection provider — Sightengine or BitMind respectively. Providers process the data in real time and do not retain it beyond their standard processing window. Providers do not receive user account data, billing information, or unrelated metadata.
- 3Automatic cleanup: A scheduled process checks for files past their retention period and deletes them from R2 storage. Database references are also removed.
- 4Deletion confirmation: Once deleted from R2 and D1, the video file and evidence frames are permanently removed. Scan scores and metadata may be retained in aggregated, non-personal form for abuse prevention.
Manual deletion requests
You can request immediate deletion of your data at any time. This includes:
- Deletion of specific scan results (uploaded video, evidence frames, report)
- Deletion of your entire account and all associated data
- Export of your scan history and metadata
How to request deletion
Email privacy@aivideodetector.dev with your request. If you have an account, send the request from your registered email address. We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days.
What we cannot delete immediately
- Backup systems: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged through normal backup rotation.
- Legal holds: If data is subject to a legal obligation, investigation, or enforcement action, we may be required to retain it beyond the normal deletion schedule.
- Abuse prevention: Aggregated, non-personal scan metadata (e.g., IP hashes, file fingerprints) may be retained for rate limiting and abuse prevention even after account deletion.
Third-party data
Detection providers process your data in real time and do not retain it beyond their standard processing window. For Free and Starter plans, extracted frames are sent to Sightengine for frame-level analysis. For Pro plans, the full video is sent to BitMind for video-level detection. Neither provider receives user account data, billing information, or unrelated metadata. We do not control their internal retention policies — for details, see their respective privacy policies linked on our Providers page.
